Starting Vlogmas!

Hello!
I came home from college earlier, and decided to catch up on a few youtube videos.  As I scanned my sub box I noticed about 5 different 'Vlogmas' videos (Vlogging+Christmas) and I don't know what happened! I just thought oh my god! I should do this! I've wanted to do something like this for so long, so I've just decided to go for it.  I don't expect loads of views of anything but I just think it will be fun to look back on, and without trying to sound morbid my nana is so so poorly at the moment, so it will be nice to have the run up to our last Christmas with her documented.
I have my day 2 up right now, it was filmed quite a while ago but it was just to help me catch up and I've filmed a few snippets of today so they will be up for day 3 tomorrow, and every day after that I will film one day, then edit and upload the next!
I really hope I can stick to it and do every single day, it will be so amazing if I can!  I also have lots of video ideas that I can film and edit to go up on days that I'm just not doing that much.  Most of which I have been dying to show you guys on here, but its so difficult to do a blog post on certain things!
So I am super super excited to get going with this! I'm always vlogging and editing and then not doing anything with it!

October&November Empties!

Hi guys!
This is my first ever empties post!  If you don't know what that means, its just all the products I've completely used up, and I'll just tell you abit about them and what I thought of them!

*****
First of all I have 3 jelly Belly bath salts, the packaging is really cute and in the pots they smelled amazing the 'Very Cherry' was my favourite.  However, they had no affect on my bath whatsoever, they didn't colour my water, make it smell nice or make it softer... So I won't be re-purchasing these because they just didn't do anything!

This No7 protective moisture cream was sat in my draw for about a year before I actually used it, but when I finally got to it it was really nice! It sunk into my skin quickly, didnt leave it feeling too greasy, and was a really nice base for my foundation.  I probably won't be re-purchasing it, just because there are so many other moisturisers I have to use up and try before I settle for one!

Now this is something I really loved! Its a mascara by the brand 'Vital Radiance' which I have actually never heard of before, I got it as a Christmas present about 2 years ago and never even bothered opening it because I thought it would be rubbish, but I found it in the back of my draw about 4 months ago and thought I'd give it a whirl! It seperated out my lashes really nicely, and gave them alot of volume, which is exactly what I want in a mascara. Length is never really something I look out for because my lashes are naturally quite long and it looks far too overdone and abit freakish when I use a really lengthening mascara! I'll have to research the brand to find where I can find it, and when I do I will definitely be re-purchasing!

This is a freederm spot treatment, I've had it for years and lost the lid, so it looks very battered the poor little thing!  I can't really say this was a miracle worker, I used it because I had it and I won't be repurchasing!

This is the ReVive Moisturising cream, and I got this in a Glossybox a few months ago.  I really loved this cream, it was really thick and I used it when I needed intense moisturisation (is that even a word? No? Probably not...)  I think the full size of this was quite expensive and hard to get hold of but if I ever see it on sale I will repurchase it!

This is the Nivea soft moisturising cream.  I hated it.  I'm not going to beat around the bush, it was horrible!  My initial thoughts were that it felt quite nice as it was going on, but that only lasted for a few seconds.  It made my skin feel greasy and like it had an oily film over it which is never good.  It was also incredibly shiny!  my face turned into a light reflecting...... devise, type, thing...  and then to add insult to injury it broke me out! After one use! I was devastated and now I'm too scared to use any other Nivea products just incase!

this is the Dove fine skin bubble bath, I got this is a gift set last Christmas and have only just used it all up!  but I really did enjoy using it, it made my bath water super soft and smelled really nice!  I probably won't repurchase, simply because no one ever seems to know what to buy teenage girls for Christmas, so we always end up with about 7 different bath sets!

This is a planet Spa foot moisturiser cream I got for my birthday from a friend, it came with little white overnight socks which I have now lost, but the cream smelt really quite unusual, it was kind of cocoa buttery, but really strange!  It was definitely an acquired smell but I didn't mind it too much, it was nice and moisturising anyway!

This is a mini Toni&Guy firm hold hairspray, I think it must have come in a gift set or something a few years ago but it was quite nice and did the job, I probably won't be repurchasing because there are plenty of other hairsprays that are just as good or better at a much cheaper price!

These were just tiny samples of facial lotion and day cream from simple, the lotion was quite nice but very thin, almost like milk! And the day dream was also nice but much thicker.  I quite liked them both and am looking into simple skincare after using these two products!

This is a No7 hand cream, I carried it around in my handbad which is why its covered in stuff, but i really liked it however I won't be repurchasing just because I have so many hand creams in my draws to use up!

This is another Glossybox sample, its the Uniq one leave in conditioner.  This had a really nice 'salon' smell to it, and I really liked it!  As far as I know you can only purchase it online which is just a big hassle really, so I won't be re-purchasing but I did enjoy it!

*****
So I hope that wasn't too boring for you, I just had all of these products saved up for whats seemed like months! I even moved house with them! My mum was not impressed when I had a box full of empty bottles for her to move with!
Hope you all have lovely weekends!

What We Did For Halloween!

Hi guys!
So this is going to be a picture post about what we did for halloween! I dressed up as a nurse, Olivia was a police lady, Azalea was bat woman, and Bebee and Sophie were hotdogs!
Everyone came to mine to get ready, because I'm the one with all the makeup!
 Few from on the train!
In the middle of Manchester in the rain!
Me and Azalea!
Me and Bebee!
 Me and Sophie!
Sophie thought it would be a good idea to try and put multiple layers of my clothing on when we got home, never seen my wardrobe so messy!
Last one! Me and Azalea being gorgeous, definitely model material, yes?

So there you go! Sorry they weren't the best pictures, but we had a nice night!  Hope you all had nice Halloweens too!  Now we can all get excited for Christmas! Yay! Bye guys

Little Announcement!

Hi guys!
I have an exciting announcement!  I have just posted my first proper vlog onto Youtube!  It isn't beauty related, just a follow me around type of thing.  It was a day out in Blackpool!  It's quite a big thing for me, just having my actual face out there, and me speaking at a camera!
I would be delighted if you went and had a little look, maybe one day it could turn into me making video's about life and beauty more regularly and having my blog too!
We'll see!
Here it is!

Collective Haul! Afflecks Palace, Topshop, Primark&More!

Hi guys!
I'm doing a haul! This is stuff I've bought over the last 2 months, definitely not all at once!

So first of all this is my gorgeous dress from Afflecks Palace in Manchester!  It was from a shop called ThunderEgg which is just so beautiful!  I absolutely love everything about it, the collar is so cute and I just adore the gold buttons!

I also got this random little pot form there, I'm not sure why, or what I'm going to put in it yet, but I just couldn't resist!

This cardigan was only from Tesco, I know the colours look different, thats just the lighting, it was half price so I got in for around £7.00 and just thought it would be good for layering and I liked the buttons!

This was from Primark, its Navy blue in real life and was around £10.00

Bebee was with me while I was taking the pictures and wanted to 'be in my blog' so please excuse the extremely inappropriate hand gesture! Just shows what delightful friends I have ahaha!

This is just a top from Topshop, if I remember correctly it was £22, over priced would be an understatement but I just liked it!

These are just nice woolly socks from Primark, underneath are grey animal print ones and were around the £2.50 mark

Awful picture but these leggings were from the matalan kids section, they are kind of paneled and really thick which is good for winter!  These were only £10.00 which is amazing since Topshop had identical ones for £28.00!

This is a bed sheet from Primark, have no idea how much this was, maybe around £5.00, but it has cute little flowers on it and I just liked it!

This was from a random little shop near me, I just thought I'd try it, my mum was paying so I thought why not!  Haven't tried it yet, but if it's amazing I shall let you all know! It was around £1/£2

This is a barry M nail polish in the colour '333 Black Multi glitter' and its just a really nice black with iridescent glitter in it, it looks really nice on the nails and is really opaque, you can easily get away with one coat!

Bought these few cheap bits at the same time, just another Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer in number 2, which just so happens to be too dark for me now and I don't think they do a lighter one which is just fantastic.  Then an MUA eyebrow pencil in 'Blonde' which is the lightest shade, for £1.00 I was well impressed with this, and will almost deffinitely be re-purchasing! and then just another MUA eyeshadow in the shade 'Matte, 17' I always just wear this to college when I cant be bothered doing anything special!

Sorry again for the awful pictures, my life is just so rushed now I've started work, and I'm in college full time too!  I promise I'll try harder next time! Hope you're all well!
Lots and lots of love Alex.X

October GlossyBox!

Hi guys!
My October GlossyBox arrived yesterday and I was really happy with what I received so thought I'd do a post about it!

For those of you who don't know, Glossybox is a monthly beauty box subscription company.  For £10.00 per month they send you a beautifully packaged box with 5 'luxury' beauty samples inside!
Some months have definitely been hit and miss with mixed reviews but the surprise is still nice!

Dermalogica 3 step day and night kit
This included a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. I thought this was so cute and I was really happy to get it.  So far I have really enjoyed trying out all 3 products and have already seen an improvement in my skin! This set would cost £12 to buy, so with this alone you have already got you're money back!

Anatomicals body scrub
I love this name of this product! 'Don't just clean it woman, Scrub it!' This body scrub is pink grapefruit flavoured and smells so nice! I can't wait to use it, I think it'll be really nice.  This sample is 75ml, the full size is 200ml and is just £3.49 which is amazing!

Skinetica Anti blemish
I was so happy to get this product as my skin has been really bad lately.  I used it for the first time last night with the dermalogica set and I can already see a massive improvement on my skin! When this sample runs out I will deffinitely be purchasing the full size which is only £6.99 for 100ml!

Yves Rocher France Moisturising Cream Lipstick
I was so excited when I saw this product in my box!  However, when I saw the colour I was really disappointed:( I don't like red lipstick on me so I'll be giving it away to a friend who will get much more use out of it!  Its a shame because it's really nicely pigmented and the texture is lovely, really creamy and moisturising, so if you like red this would be perfect! This is the full sized version and would cost £14.50!

So I was super happy with this months box and am really looking forward to Novembers box, hopefully it will be just as good as this one!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

What Inspires Me?

Hi Guys!
I've wanted to do a post like this for quite a while now, its about what inspires me.
I've been thinking about it for months, about what shapes the way I think, the things I wear, the kind of makeup I do, and what I like; it turns out there's quite alot of things that inspire me, so here I am, writing about it!

Friends
My friends inspire me an awful lot, they give me new idea's and they've made me think very differently about lots of different things.
None of us are really that similar, infact we all dress completely differently!
There's Azalea, the grungey one who is so beautiful with the biggest features,  she could pull any look off without even trying.
Then there's Bebee, her style is really hard to explain. I asked her what she would call it and she said 'I don't really believe in style, you dress how you want to dress, if you like something, you like it.' and this is one of the main reasons my friends inspire me so much, because what she said is SO completely true! and I'd never even thought about it that way before! She likes vintage type things, sometimes she can come out looking classic and girly, other times slightly grungey, but she never goes too far either side. Again she can pull almost anything off, and she always looks fantastic!
Then there's Olivia, she likes bright colours, neons, she admits its 'abit tacky' but its what she likes and she works with it! It always amazes me how classic she still manages to look, even with the bright colours and crazy prints!
Then there's me, I don't know if its just because I'm describing myself here, but even the girls say, I dress completely 'normal' so i guess I'm just the boring one!
Olivia, Me, Azalea and Bebee!

Youtubers and Bloggers!
This is another big one! I watch youtube video's and read blogs everyday, so they're bound to have an affect on the way I look at things and the things I like and buy.  I love seeing what people have bought and the things that are on sale in shops, so I love watching haul video's!  I also like seeing how people style certain things, Sam from BeautyCrush is usually good at that with her 'How I Style:' video's.
Jess from JDRmakeup also inspired me with the way she dresses, sound silly but I wear necklaces after watching her! I don't know why but I just never even thought to wear a necklace, and she has one she always wears!
I love Anna and Jonathan from LefloofTV and thestylediet, I've watched their daily lives for over 2 years, and they made me realise what I want for my future!
I love Louise from SprinkleOfGlitter, she's made me realize its okay not to be stick thin, and she's made me feel more comfortable about my body! She's also made me appreciate my family even more than I already did!

Media
For me this title includes quite a few different things: magazines, TV, celebrities and models mainly.  I love flicking through magazines on lazy days, and just having them around! I know I wont be able to buy anything from Vogue, Elle or Marie Clare but I love looking at the gorgeous models and expensive clothes and thinking, 'ahh, maybe one day!' When I'm feeling a little less optimistic I like company magazine, thats my favorite and I recommend you go and check it out!
There are so many models who inspire me, I love Cara and Poppy Delevingne, they are both so gorgeous and look so much fun, I can imagine being friends with them! And who have you ever seen still look amazing in a hotdog costume?
Then there's Kate Moss, she always looks so beautiful, and I respect her so much for keeping her private life private.
I love Brigitte Bardot, she was a model from the 50's and her life story is truly amazing to me, and she's still beautiful today, even though she's nearly 80! She has this gorgeous long grey hair!

Brigitte Bardot
Cara Delevingne

I think its also important to remember the Media is one big Photoshopped marketing machine, and its very easy to get sucked into believing what they want you to.
You are who you are, not what anyone else says you should be!

Strangers!
Sometimes I'll be somewhere and see someone minding their own business who I just think looks amazing! I know its abit weird but I just can't help but stare! They might be really beautiful, or I might adore their hair and makeup, or maybe I just love their style and what they're wearing, but I often find myself being inspired the most by people I don't even know!
I always love it when that happens, I don't know why but it always makes my day that little bit more glittery! I guess I'm just abit weird!
I think I might have waffled a little bit, so sorry about that, but I really enjoyed writing this post!
I would love love love to hear about what inspires you so please leave me a comment down below!
